Downfall of a Prime Minister

The announcement today by Prime Minister Theresa May that she will step down as PM on June 7 will no doubt be welcomed in many quarters. Despite our remarks yesterday that it was indeed time for her to go, the news is not entirely welcome.

No, Theresa May has not been a successful PM but nevertheless it is always a little sad to see somebody leave their post under the circumstances that have surrounded her. The unseemly positioning of others to succeed her began some time ago and it is this that is so disquieting.

There is little doubt that Theresa May has been betrayed by her parliamentary colleagues thus we stand by our earlier comments that most of the current occupants of the House of Commons (on all sides of the House) should also go.

Their behaviour over recent times has brought shame upon this country.
