Air Canada Long-Haul changes

Air Canada filed changes to its Northern winter 2019/20 operation for long-haul routes, effective from 27OCT19. As of 24APR19, planned adjustment includes the following.

  • Calgary – London Heathrow Selected dates in Feb 2020 scheduled with 777-300ER aircraft, replacing 787-9

 

Air China London Heathrow aircraft changes

Air China adjusted Beijing – London Heathrow service, as the airline removed planned 2nd daily A350 operation from 01JUN19. From 01JUN19, CA787/788 will continue to be served by Airbus A330-200 aircraft, instead of A350-900XWB.

Air Moldova London service changes

Air Moldova in the last few weeks removed planned service resumption on Chisinau – London Gatwick route, previously served until April 2013. The airline originally filed operational schedule for 2 weekly flights with Airbus A319, from 07JUN19. Previously filed schedule as follows.

On Chisinau – London Stansted route, the airline will add 6th weekly flight, operating on Wednesdays, from 04JUN19 to 24SEP19. Reported in previous post, the airline is adding leased Airbus A321 aircraft during peak season.

Air Transat updates A321neo LR European network

Air Transat filed service changes for its planned Airbus A321neo LR aircraft for European service. Planned A321neo LR service for summer 2019 season as follows:

  • Montreal – London Gatwick 11OCT19 – 18OCT19 1 weekly (Previously scheduled as 1 weekly from 19JUN19 to 18SEP19)

  • Toronto – London Gatwick 22OCT19 – 31OCT19 1 daily

 

Air Transat A321neo LR Trans-Atlantic network

Air Transat filed planned Airbus A321neo LR European service for winter 2019/20 season, from late-October 2019. Planned A321neo LR Trans-Atlantic routes and frequency as follows.

  • Toronto – Glasgow eff 30OCT19 2 weekly

  • Toronto – London Gatwick eff 22OCT19 1 daily

  • Toronto – Manchester eff 04NOV19 2 weekly

  • Toronto – Porto eff 03NOV19 1 weekly

Additional routes to be filed in the next few weeks. With the exception of Glasgow, winter operation for routes listed above is scheduled until 30APR20.

 

Air Transat schedules new A321neo LR Trans-Atlantic routes

Air Transat extended schedule listing to 21MAY20, which sees additional European routes to be served by the A321neo LR. Planned new A321neo LR European routes for the month of May 2020 as follows.

  • Montreal – London Gatwick eff 01MAY20 2 weekly

 

Biman Bangladesh London Heathrow service update

Biman Bangladesh Airlines filed additional changes to its operation to London Heathrow for the 3rd quarter of 2019. Boeing 787-8 aircraft is now scheduled to operate Dhaka – London Heathrow – Sylhet – Dhaka route from 05JUL19 to 14SEP19, replacing 777-300ER. Previously the airline filed brief 777-300ER service for the first-half of August 2019.

British Airways Durban aircraft changes

British Airways is adjusting operational aircraft for London Heathrow – Durban route in the second-half of April 2019, with the scheduling of Boeing 787-9 aircraft, replacing -8. First Class cabin on the -9 is not available for sale on this route. The 787-9 operates this route 3 times a week, from 18APR19 to 29APR19, LHR departure.

British Airways reduces Johannesburg service

British Airways adjusted London Heathrow – Johannesburg service, which sees service reduction from 01JUN19. From this date, the oneWorld carrier will operate 14 weekly flights, instead of 18. Planned frequency changes is also in effect in Northern winter 2019/20 season, from 27OCT19.

British Airways increases Mumbai service

British Airways is increasing London Heathrow – Mumbai service, with the additional 4 weekly flights scheduled from 02JUN19. Overall service will increase from 14 to 18 weekly as a result. Reservation for additional flights opened last week, for travel until 26OCT19.

  • London Heathrow – Calgary eff 29MAR20 2 of 7 weekly operated by 787-9, replacing -8

  • London Heathrow – Houston eff 29MAR20 operational aircraft changes: - BA195/194 4-class 777-200ER replaces 747-400 - BA197/196 787-9 replaces 777-200ER

  • London Heathrow – Hyderabad eff 29MAR20 5 of 7 weekly operated by 787-9, replacing -8

British Airways in summer 2019 season is increasing service to Spain, where following routes receives (more than 1 weekly) additional frequencies, based on comparison to summer 2018.

Eastern Airways operated last Newcastle – London City service on 05APR2019. It previously operated up to 2 daily flights, with Saab 2000 aircraft. Schedule was as follows:

flyBe increases Edinburgh – London Heathrow service from late-April 2019 with the addition of new late-afternoon departure from Edinburgh from 22APR19, early-morning departure from Heathrow from 23APR19. Dash8-Q400 aircraft operates this route. Overall service increases from 5 to 6 daily.

Jet2.com announced additional routes scheduled for summer 2020, including service to Preveza and Zadar. Planned operation includes the following:

  • London Stansted – Preveza eff 10MAY20 1 weekly (2 weekly from 27MAY20)

  • London Stansted – Zadar eff 24MAY20 2 weekly

  • Manchester – Preveza eff 10MAY20 1 weekly

Lufthansa outlines A321neo European network

Lufthansa filed Airbus A321neo operation on intra-European routes, tentatively scheduled in June 2019. Planned A321neo service includes the following.

  • Frankfurt – London Heathrow 10JUN19 – 30JUN19 1 daily

 

Norwegian Air Sweden outlines initial operations

Norwegian in recent schedule update filed operations, which sees selected service to/from Scandinavia with remark “operated by Norwegian Air Sweden (IATA code LE)”. Norwegian Air Sweden aircraft operation is set to commence in August 2019. Note selected service on these routes continue to be sold under Norwegian Air Shuttle’s DY-coded flight numbers. Certain routes will see service “operated by Norwegian Air Sweden” on one-time basis.
