Aviation: Visit to Amsterdam Schiphol


Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of Europe's top three gateways. It handled 71,053,157 passengers during 2018, along with 1,716,892 tonnes of cargo, on 499,466 arrivals and departures. The airport has a reputation for being welcoming to enthusiasts and its facilities include a large panoramic roof deck (which is closed until mid-summer due to renovation works elsewhere in the terminal) along with plentiful vantage points around the perimeter. Exhibits inside and outside the building include a complete Fokker 100 aircraft and the forward fuselage of a McDonnell Douglas DC-9 airliner.
